“SDA College Cricket Match”
On January 24, 2025, SDA College hosted an exciting cricket match between two departments—Commerce and Arts—at the Royal Cricket Ground in Gatrad. The much-anticipated cricket match began with much excitement as students from both the Commerce and Arts departments took to the field, ready to showcase their cricketing skills. The Royal Cricket Ground in Gatrad, with its expansive field and lively atmosphere, provided the perfect setting for the match. The Commerce Department won the toss and elected to bat first, aiming to set a challenging target for the Arts department. The opening batsmen of Commerce played with confidence, building a strong partnership and hitting some great shots. The Arts team, however, wasn’t going to make it easy. Their bowlers responded with precision and skill, taking crucial wickets at regular intervals and keeping the run rate in check.
As the match progressed, both teams displayed excellent teamwork and sportsmanship. The fielding was sharp, with some stunning catches and quick runs being executed. The Arts team’s bowlers continued to apply pressure, and they managed to restrict Commerce to a competitive total.
In reply, the Arts team came out with determination, but Commerce’s bowlers were equally effective. The match was intense, with both departments giving their best. Ultimately, the Commerce team managed to edge out a victory, but the Arts department’s spirited performance was commendable, making the match an exhilarating contest from start to finish.
The game concluded with great enthusiasm, and the crowd celebrated the healthy competition, reinforcing the sense of unity and spirit among the students of SDA College.
